Lovell eastern region’s decade of safety excellence wins leading award from national safety charity RoSPA

Lovell’s Eastern region’s excellent health and safety record over the past decade has been recognised by the company’s achievement of a President’s Award in the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2016.

The accolade for the Gildersome-based company marks its success in winning 10 consecutive RoSPA Gold awards from the national safety charity.

The RoSPA Awards – celebrating their 60th anniversary this year underline Lovell’s dedication to ensuring the highest safety standards at its construction sites and offices across Yorkshire, the East Midlands and in the North East.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, says: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards, is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.”

Lovell regional director Robert Adams says: “This award reflects the dedication and unstinting hard work both of our own team and our subcontractors. Having rigorous health and safety management systems in place to ensure the health and safety of our workforce and of the public is of paramount importance to the company. I’m therefore delighted that our hard work and expertise has once again been highlighted by RoSPA.”

Current housing projects by Lovell in Yorkshire include a £1.7 million specialists supported housing scheme at Moresdale Lane, Leeds, for supported housing provider HB Villages and a £4 million development of 40 homes in Doncaster for sister urban regeneration company Muse Developments. As part of Compendium Living, Lovell is also delivering a major housing regeneration scheme for Hull City Council in the Ings area of Hull.
