Staff from housing developer Lovell joined ex-servicemen and children at St Andrew’s Primary School in Newport for the school’s poignant Remembrance service. Guests attending the event also included the Mayor of Newport.
Lovell helped with the preparations by restoring the school’s Remembrance Garden including painting a bench, creating a display and laying stone chippings on the base of the tree where poppy wreaths were laid.
“We were delighted to offer our support with the work to the Remembrance Garden as well as proud to have been invited to join the children and other guests from the community,” says Lovell community liaison officer Bernadette Vickery.
“It was a very moving event and so impressive to see pupils honouring the occasion and demonstrating their understanding of its significance.”
Lovell is working close to St Andrew’s Primary School on a major housing development for Pobl Group. The Loftus Garden Village regeneration scheme will create a total of 250 new homes in a landscaped setting.
