Lovell Opens Doors to the public at sites across London

Last week, local people in four locations across London were offered the rare opportunity to look around a live construction site, when Lovell Homes threw open the doors of its developments.

The events were part of the annual Open Doors Week, when developers across the UK invite local people to look behind the scenes at their sites and find out about how the buildings are being constructed and the skills required.

Trinity Walk, Lovell Homes’ flagship development, was the first to open its doors to the public. Other site visits were held at the Regents Park Estate in Camden; Dover Court in Islington and The Electric Quarter in Enfield.

For the visitors to Trinity Walk, Ben Wilson and George Taylor – site managers at the development – were joined by graduate Bhavik Patel to give a presentation on the project. At Regents Park, John Mills, the development’s award winning project manager, gave a presentation on the project and at The Electric Quarter site visit, Cliff Cowley the development’s Senior Site Manager led a tour of the site.

For the visitors to Dover Court, Alexandra Robins - the development’s Resident Liaison Officer - gave a presentation on the project and, following a safety briefing, a tour of the site. Graduates Koysor Miah and Barbara Akinkumi also discussed their experiences at Lovell and why they chose careers in the construction industry.

Stuart Gibbons, regional managing director at Lovell London, comments: “It was a pleasure to see so many people enjoying our Open Doors events across London and South East. Working closely with communities is a top priority for Lovell and we seek every opportunity to involve them. We are equally passionate about promoting careers in construction and events such as this are great for highlighting the many exciting and varied careers available in the industry.”
