Lovell has been shortlisted for two awards in North West Insider’s prestigious Residential Property Awards.
Lovell Homes’ East Avenue development in Openshaw has been shortlisted in the Housing Development of the Year category, while Lovell Partnerships’ integral role on the regeneration of Miles Platting in East Manchester has been recognised in the Public-Private Partnership category.
Recognising a residential development scheme that has incorporated elements beyond the norm, judges for the Housing Development of the Year looked for schemes that have shown commercial success alongside innovative or novel design features, sustainable benchmarks, strong environmental credentials and benefits to the local community.
Set in the rejuvenated heart of Openshaw, East Avenue is an impressive new development designed with first-time buyers and families in mind, the development comprises 164 new homes, creating a thriving community where people can come together to enjoy life to the full.
Featuring an outstanding specification, East Avenue has been a development in high demand, with almost five enquiries per plot since Lovell first launched the scheme. While the initial target for the development in 2017 was 48 homes, Lovell has worked to increase this number to 69 in order to meet demand.
The Public-Private Partnership award identifies a North West project that is a standout example of public/private partnership, taking into consideration job creation and whether a site has been brought back to economic use.
The Miles Platting project ‘Platting Village’ is transforming a 264-acre inner-city housing estate in a previously neglected area of East Manchester into a thriving urban village of families and professionals.
An exciting series of phased developments delivered in partnership with Manchester City Council and the Renaissance Consortium, Platting Village is set to deliver more than 900 new homes and 1,520 refurbished council properties, transforming part of East Manchester into a vibrant new community for all to enjoy.
A 15-year comprehensive regeneration programme, Platting Village has a contract value of £235m. All sales and house types have been met with phenomenal demand with all plots released to date sold or reserved.
Nigel Yates, regional managing director, said; “At Lovell, we are committed to ensuring our new homes create a lasting legacy and enhance the local community so we’re delighted to be shortlisted for these awards which are testament to the dedication of our team in the NW.
“East Avenue has been so successful we’ve been able to increase the supply of homes built this year while our partnership with Manchester City Council for Platting Village has seen a neglected area of East Manchester transformed with a reserve list for all plots released.”
The awards will be announced at a black-tie ceremony at Event City in Manchester on 25th January 2018.
