Recycling-themed community fun day raises £3,000-plus for Rhoose charity

Lovell helped sponsor a recycling-themed community event organised by Vale of Glamorgan Council in Rhoose, South Wales.

The Big Recycle event and family fun day, held at Rhoose Community Hall, raised £3,116 for the Rhoose-based Vale Parent/Child Homework Support Club. The charity helps local children and young people struggling at school and advises parents on supporting children with homework whilst providing a support network for parents and guardians of children with learning or physical difficulties.

Pictured with residents at the recycling event are, back row, left to right, Lovell resident liaison officer Tracie Carter; Andrew George of SAM Drylining; Lovell project co-ordinator Nicola Murray and Nick Speed of Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Activities and events during the fun day included a recycling competition, an auction and stalls with Lovell sponsoring a bouncy castle and some of the refreshments.

Lovell is currently working in the area carrying out a large-scale homes refurbishment scheme for Vale of Glamorgan Council. “Getting involved with the local community is very important to us, so we were delighted to be able to support the fun day,” says Lovell resident liaison officer Tracie Carter. “It is fantastic to see such a large amount raised for the Vale Parent/Child Homework Support Club.”
