You’re hired: our London region welcomes eight new graduates

Our London region has welcomed eight graduates to the world of construction to train as apprentice site managers in a two-year programme.

Among the new recruits are Sam Cunningham, 24, who chose a career in construction after studying Economics at Fordham University. He said: “Construction interests me as it has a clear purpose in providing a necessity; there’s real satisfaction in being a part of the building process. I look forward to mastering site management skills and learning about property development from start to finish.”

Guisy Adekunbi, 21, is also looking forward to her new role, putting her Construction Project Management degree from Aston University into practice. She said: “I’ve got a strong interest in design and building construction, especially regeneration, so I’m keen to understand more about the different stages of a development.”

Each apprentice will learn the practical skills needed to manage a development. Most of their time will be spent on site, meeting and working with the construction teams across our sites in the capital, including Trinity Walk, our flagship scheme in Woolwich. This development comprises a collection of new apartments and townhouses, which are part of a £400m regeneration scheme with development partners PA Housing and The Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Committed to recruiting motivated graduates

Mike Maxwell, our operations director, said: “Lovell is committed to recruiting bright, motivated graduates with the potential to become the future leaders of its business and offers opportunities in specific areas, such as site management and quantity surveying. If you’d like to be among the new line up for 2018, you can find out more by visiting our careers page.”
