Lovell Homes, who are building the new Queensbury Park development close to Redhill Primary Academy, have provided a £2,000 sponsorship boost for the school’s Winterfest and Family Firework Finale which takes place on Saturday, 24 November.
Redhill pupils visited the new homes development to thank regional managing director Stuart Penn and his team for supporting the event, organised by The Friends of Redhill. The fundraising extravaganza, from 4pm, will feature food, drink, craft and gift stalls plus other attractions followed by a giant family fireworks display, at 6pm.
“With our new Queensbury Park housing development just around the corner, we’re delighted to be sponsoring The Friends of Redhill’s fantastic Winterfest celebration,” says Lovell regional managing director Stuart Penn, who will officially get the fireworks display under way. “I’m also looking forward to pressing the red button on what is going to be a spectacular fireworks display and taking part in this really fun family event. As a company building many new homes locally, we’re committed to bringing long-term benefits to the area. Helping local organisations and groups is an important way in which we can get involved and make a positive difference for the community as a whole.” Queensbury Park is a major development for Homes England which will create 220 homes, including homes for open market sale and affordable homes.
Pru McCarney, chair of The Friends of Redhill, adds: “We are so very grateful to Lovell for their kind generosity in sponsoring this major event for us. We work tirelessly as a team to raise funds for extra school resources and it’s such a help to receive corporate sponsorship. In the last 18 months we have landed a helicopter full of Harry Potter characters on the school playing field in front of 470 pupils and welcomed a circus to school, entertaining 600 people. We certainly know how to fundraise at Redhill!”
This year, Lovell has raised or donated more than £6,200 towards local communities across the Midlands. The company has its own dedicated community liaison officer whose role is to build links and relationships with grassroots organisations enabling Lovell to give something back to the places where it builds and help local areas thrive.
Lovell is set to continue its support for Redhill Primary Academy by organising events with the school, including visits by the company’s health and safety team and competitions for pupils.
