Following seeing Senior Site Manager, Oliver Thompson, named a Finalist in the category of Construction Professional of the Year at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards earlier in the year, they are now waiting to hear if they have succeeded in winning four more awards at virtual ceremonies to be held later this month.
Current Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Bradley Ireson, has been named as Finalist in the RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards with colleagues nominating him for his positive, pro-active attitude and the exciting innovations he’s already brought to the business. Bradley writes “I’m delighted to be announced as a Finalist for this award. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Lovell so far and am working hard to continuously build on my skills and expertise. I’m looking forward to further improving in my role, and teaching others about working in the industry”.
A former apprentice and trainee who has built his career at Lovell, Contracts Manager, Tommy Salmon, has been named as a Finalist evidencing Lovell’s excellent training programme by Investors in People in their Learning & Development Award.
Lovell in East Anglia itself achieved a third consecutive Gold Award for the Investors in People accreditation process in February 2020 during which their learning and development programme was one of the areas highlighted as being particularly advanced.
Investors in People also named Lovell Construction Manager, Michael Saunders, as a Finalist in its Leader of the Year Award, rounding off a fantastic year in which he has also been named as a Finalist in the highly competitive Construction Manager of the Year Awards hosted by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Michael’s outstanding contribution to managing Lovell’s projects with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk under their Major Housing Partnership demonstrated his exceptional leadership skills and combined with references from his colleagues and subcontractors alike led him to success after an intense nomination process. He commented, “There is never a dull moment with my role. I enjoy constantly facing new challenges, meeting new people, supporting and developing others into their roles, helping to encourage young people into the industry and delivering quality developments”.
