Leading developer Lovell Homes recently welcomed the Mayor of Weston-super-Mare, Cllr Mark Canniford, to its Keepers Gate development to see the new safety measures in place following the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Mayor met with James Duffett, Regional Managing Director at Lovell to learn more about the range of safety measures and new working procedures which meet or exceed Government guidance.

Also in attendance was Julie Bowen, Regional Sales Director at Lovell and Parry Morgan, Head of Development at Livewest, which manages the affordable element of the development.

The Mayor was able to witness first-hand the work implemented by Lovell Homes to ensure Weston-super-Mare homebuyers are able to move home and staff can work onsite safely.

The measures include protective Perspex screens, temperature testing, strict social distancing and, where necessary, personal protective equipment (PPE), plus the development is operating by appointment only to avoid the gathering of customers.

The Mayor also met with Build Manager, Mal Hoskins and Site Manager, Ben Howell to discuss how construction work is being carried out and to view the completed homes at Keepers Gate.

Commenting on his visit, Cllr Mark Canniford said: “I was extremely impressed with the quality of the build at Keepers Gate. The measures in place to ensure the safety of customers and staff are impressive and customers can feel assured by the Covid-19 safety provision.”

James Duffett, added: “It was a pleasure to show the Mayor the new measures in place at Keepers Gate to help property seekers move home during these difficult times. The safety of our customers and employees remains our number one priority and as demonstrated during the visit, we have adapted our sales and site operations to accommodate Government guidelines.”

Julie Bowen, said: “I was delighted to meet the Mayor to talk through how the business is operating following the pandemic and the procedures in place to enable customers to move into their new homes without delay and allow potential purchasers the opportunity to visit the development.”

Located off Wentwood Drive, Keepers Gate is a desirable collection of 35 three and four-bedroom new homes for sale and 15 affordable homes, with properties surrounded by stunning, far stretching landscapes and views of the Bristol Chanel.
