Lovell, the partnership housing division of the £3.1bn Morgan Sindall Group, has appointed Jonathan Shelley as Operations Manager in the southern region as the business expands its operation.
Based at the company’s office in Exeter, Jonathan will be responsible for ensuring all sites are built to a very high standard and delivered in line with the Lovell ethos of quality workmanship.
Jonathan, 53, has worked in the construction and housebuilding sector in the south west region for over 30 years with his most recent position as Contracts Manager at Barratt and David Wilson Homes in Exeter.
Jonathan started his career at Midas Homes as a surveyor before becoming a site manager in a ten-year career at the company. He fulfilled a dream by founding his own construction and developing business in 2001 and ran it successfully for nine years. In 2010, he joined Linden Homes South West as Commercial Manager holding a number of senior positions during a period of five years.
Lovell Southern covers a large geographical area from Cornwall in the west to Southampton on the south coast and it’s an exciting time for the region as it looks to start three new residential projects in the coming months.
Commenting on his appointment Jonathan said: “I am really looking forward to this exciting challenge working with Andrew and the team. There’s a huge opportunity to grow the Lovell region across the south west and along the south coast.
With Lovell’s extensive expertise in housing led regeneration through a partnership ethos, the aim is to build a sustainable business that will employ around 100 people and thousands through the local supply chain, whilst increasing housing capacity in the region.
Regional Managing Director at Lovell Southern, Andrew Johnston, added: “We are delighted to have Jonathan on board. He has a fantastic track record for delivering first class developments across the south west.”
Andrew added: “The company’s strong financial position and support from Morgan Sindall Group will enable us to work with our partners and increase the much-needed supply of homes in the area.
“The company has a great delivery model with ambitions to grow the business and its investment in the southern region demonstrates commitment to that strategy as well as to the wider affordable housing sector.”
