Today, as part of Morgan Sindall Group plc, our ongoing commitment and contribution to reducing emissions by working closely with our partners throughout the supply chain has been acknowledged as we join the top 7% of firms in the UK on the CDP Supplier Engagement Leaderboard.

We can make a big difference to emissions, if we work together

Rob Worboys, Head of Procurement & Sustainability, Lovell

Widely respected as the leading authority on the impact companies have on achieving a truly sustainable economy, this acknowledgement by CDP is a fantastic achievement and reflects our core values as a business.

Rob Worboys, Head of Procurement & Sustainability at Lovell Partnerships is delighted to share this news, Rob comments: “It comes as no surprise that we have been ranked amongst the top 7% of firms globally driving the transition towards a net-zero sustainable economy.  What excites us about the Supplier Engagement Leaderboard, which is based on our Supplier Engagement Rating, is that it is a true and honest reflection of both ours and our suppliers ongoing commitment to the reduction of emissions.  It is only through collaboration that we will deliver long-term change and by measuring our performance in this wider context, we can start to understand and appreciate the real impact and opportunity we have to make a big difference to climate change, if we work together.”

Launched in 2016, the Supplier Engagement Rating is used to assess how companies and their suppliers cascade actions that can positively improve climate change.  Not only is it used by companies to assess their own supplier engagement performance, but it is also used more widely to identify and share best practice.  Rob comments further: “The transparent nature of the Leaderboard allows us to really assess our true impact both up and down the supply chain – we need to hold ourselves accountable if we are to tackle climate change at the pace that is necessary.”

Sonya Bhonsie, Global Head of Value Chains, CDP has this to say: “Companies’ emissions don't end at the factory door. In fact, CDP data shows a company's supply chain emissions are over 11.4 times greater than its direct emissions on average. Meaningful corporate climate action means engaging with suppliers to reduce emissions across the value chain. Despite the challenges from COVID-19, in 2020 nearly 400 companies achieved a place on CDP's Supplier Engagement Leaderboard. Congratulations to these companies - as Supplier Engagement Leaders, they are driving the transition towards the net-zero sustainable economy.”
