Construction work is now well underway on 50 new homes in Malvern, after partners Lovell Midlands and Platform Housing Group (PHG) visited the site to officially ‘break the ground’.

Lovell and PHG are working in partnership to design and build the new homes, located on land off North End Lane.

The development will provide a collection of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes with 14 for affordable rent, 14 for social rent and 22 for shared ownership.

Simon Wingate, Regional Partnerships Director at Lovell was joined by Samuel Clarke, Operations Manager at Lovell, Stephen Ingram, Regional Development Manager and Liam Good, Development Officer from Platform Housing Group.

Simon Wingate said: “This ground breaking marks the start of another exciting project for Lovell and we’re delighted to be transforming this site into a high-quality development, which will deliver much needed affordable housing. The land has been disused for some time and is very well positioned. There is particularly high demand for affordable housing in Malvern and we’re delighted to be working with Platform Housing Group to bring forward this much anticipated scheme.

“This is a great example of how working in partnership can benefit communities and the local economy whilst creating numerous jobs and training opportunities in the town.”

Stephen Ingram, Regional Development Manager at Platform Housing Group said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Lovell on this latest development; these new homes will form a high quality and sustainable affordable housing development that meets the needs of local people.  Ensuring people have access to social housing is of vital importance in today's world.  We look forward to completion of the project and welcoming customers into their new homes."
