Smashing its target of 50 days, partnership and open-market housing provider Lovell has contributed a staggering 232 days of volunteering in the last 12 months as part of its #BigLovell50Challenge.

Colleagues from across the country participated in ‘The 50 Day Difference’ undertaking a variety of voluntary activities including litter picking from coast lines and parks, supporting local schools with new and exciting projects, maintenance and re-decoration of community centres as well as undertaking groundworks and gardening to name a few.

Created in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the company’s first partnership housing scheme,  the ‘Big Lovell 50 Challenge’ was designed to support the business to give back to the communities it has helped to create. The initiative focused on two programmes, ‘50 miles to change a life’ - which saw Lovell team members either walk, run, cycle or swim a minimum of 50 miles each to raise money for youth homelessness charity Centrepoint; as well as ‘The 50 Day Difference’ volunteering initiative.

Justine Elliott, Lovell Sales Director, has this to say: “What an incredible achievement, 232 days of volunteering from Lovell colleagues across the country is just fantastic. I feel privileged to be part of such an inspiring team, dedicating hours of their own time to improve the communities in which we operate.

“To mark the 50th anniversary of our first partnership housing scheme we really wanted to do something that would give back to the communities we have helped to create. The ‘Big Lovell 50 Challenge’ has done just that; raising £5,000 for Centrepoint charity and seeing thousands of hours of time invested in local causes.

Thank you and a huge well done to all of our colleagues who took part.”
