Lovell granted planning permission to bring 80 new homes to Taunton village

We are excited to have been given the green light by Somerset Council to deliver 80 new homes in the village of Cotford St Luke, following unanimous approval on the site’s reserved matters planning application.

Situated off Dene Road just five miles from the centre of Taunton, the £25 million, mixed tenure development will consist of two, three and four-bedroom homes, including 60 properties available via open market sale and 20 affordable homes.

All 80 homes will be gas-free and benefit from air source heat pumps. The scheme will also deliver a minimum of 10 per cent Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), meaning that the development will have a positive impact on the area’s habitats, plants and wildlife, compared to what was on the site previously.

Alongside high-quality new homes, the development will feature public open space, allotments, play areas, foot paths and cycleways for existing and future residents to utilise.  

Construction work is due to commence on the site in late-summer 2025 and complete mid-2027.
