The Lovell Renew commitment to putting residents first has been recognised by Tpas, the UK’s leading tenant engagement body, during an award presentation at the contractor’s Birmingham office.

The retrofit and refurbishment specialist is the first contractor in the UK to be accredited under Tpas’ newly revised Contractor Engagement Standards - a recognition of its people-focused approach to improving homes, building partnerships and delivering exceptional customer care.

Lovell Renew partners with councils and housing providers to refurbish and retrofit homes, making them better, safer, warmer, and healthier for residents. The team operates across the Midlands and the North.

Tpas visited the Lovell Renew Birmingham office to present the award on Thursday, November 6 and meet the team behind the achievement.

Emma Gilpin, Head of Consultancy at Tpas, said: “Lovell Renew has set a benchmark for the sector - showing how contractors can put residents at the centre of every project. The team’s commitment to engagement and continuous improvement is clear, and it was great to recognise this.”

Caroline Lovelace, Customer Experience Manager at Lovell Renew, said: “It’s an honour to be the first contractor to be accredited under the new standards and to celebrate with our teams.

“Our Resident Liaison Officers and delivery teams work hard every day to make homes better, warmer, safer and healthier for the people who live in them. This award is a real testament to their dedication and the high standards we set ourselves.”

The accreditation follows a rigorous, independent assessment process that included staff interviews, resident meetings, workshops, surveys and desktop reviews.

Assessors praised Lovell for its approach to apprenticeships, local employment initiatives and social value, as well as its ‘close-knit and supportive culture’. They also noted the team’s commitment to resolving issues quickly and respectfully.

Lovell Renew has previously won accreditation under Tpas’s previous standards four times - in 2009, 2012, 2016 and 2019.

Its updated standards also cover governance and transparency; scrutiny; business and strategy; complaints; information and communication; resources for engagement; and community and wider engagement.

Each accreditation lasts three years, with reviews taking place 12 months after the date of awarding.
