Paul Devaney has more than 33 years’ experience in the industry, having previously worked for Avant Homes, Persimmon Homes and Keepmoat Homes, and will be responsible for establishing Lovell’s presence in the north east.
He joins the team at an exciting time as Lovell progresses its work to achieve significant growth targets by 2022, as well as further establishing its five-star builder status.
Paul said: “I’m delighted to be starting the next chapter of my career with Lovell and can’t wait to get stuck into my new role. This is naturally the next step for me, having spent much of my career in commercial roles and I’m really excited. Lovell has an incredibly strong reputation in the industry and is always striving to grow and improve its offering through alliance with other industry leaders. This resonates with me as developing relationships is at the core of everything I do.
“What I’m most looking forward to is having the opportunity to really make my mark in the northeast, while simultaneously building a team around me to continue the success of the business as it continues this venture into a new region.”
Already joining Paul in the northeast are technical manager David Atkinson and assistant land buyer Grady Finlay, and the region has already secured its first two sites – Spennymoor and Ormesby – which start on site in January 2022. The new team will operate from Lovell’s Leeds office, with the aim of moving into a brand-new office in the northeast as soon as possible.
Robert Adams, regional managing director at Lovell, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Paul to the team. Our focus is on creating new and exciting communities for people across the region, and recruiting the right people is at the heart of that ethos.
“The first half of 2021 has already seen us welcome several accomplished new starters to Lovell and Paul is very much one of these. His extensive experience in the industry combined with his management skills make him a natural fit for us and we can’t wait to see what happens in the northeast as he takes the helm of our push to expand in this area.”
Paul added: “Even after more than 30 years in the industry, housebuilding still excites me and I’m passionate about setting high standards, which is a key driver for me. We all have our own role to play in creating these exciting, life-long homes for people that are high quality and built to last a lifetime, and I love being a part of that.”
