Lovell has won planning permission for a new site in the ancient East Riding market town of Snaith, marking its ongoing growth in the Yorkshire region.

The scheme, named King’s Reach, will consist of plots for the open market in addition to affordable properties through Yorkshire Housing and will be located on the edge of an existing, thriving community. Snaith is a town steeped in history, situated close to the M62.

Once complete, the development will offer 43 brand-new properties to the west of Butt Lane with associated infrastructure. Natural landscaping has been included in the plans to ensure the development remains sensitive to the current surroundings.

Outline planning permission had already been granted for the site to be used for residential purposes in August 2021. A new application to agree house types has now also been approved following a planning meeting today (17 April 2022).

Robert Adams, regional managing director at Lovell Partnerships said: “We were thrilled to secure the development site for King’s Reach in the quaint location of Snaith. We are delighted that our planning application has now been approved.

"We listened to the opinions of the local community and council and introduced bungalows to the scheme and are now looking forward to quickly progressing the delivery of high-quality, open market and affordable housing, in a region where demand is high.

“The site covers an area of 1.7 hectares, or 4.3 acres, and the proposed scheme has been designed to be sensitive to its surroundings and respectful to the overall location. Increasing our footprint in Yorkshire is a big focus as our reputation and achievements across the East of England continue to go from strength-to-strength through the delivery of high-quality mixed tenure developments, land-led contracting and design and build contracting.”
