As part of our Lovell legacy and support the communities we build, we have recently supported Walsham le Willows CEVC Primary School by transforming its garden courtyard area and donating benches for the area.

Working with Bowie Construction, we transformed its overgrown courtyard area near to our site at The Acorns into a neater, well-equipped reflective area, which the students are enjoying relaxing in and using as an outdoor reading space.

Neil Hesketh, contracts manager at Lovell, said: “Working with Bowie, we spent considerable time creating this reflective space for the students, parents and teachers to enjoy. The transformation started with our team clearing away broken trellis and wooden planters, before flattening the area to lay new concrete slabs to make the pathway more accessible. Shingle was laid down for the benches with a storytelling chair also added. Returning to the school to see the space being used by the students has been fantastic and so rewarding. Last year we also supported the school by donating some Bee Bot sets.”

Maxine McGarr, headteacher at Walsham-le-Willows CEVC Primary said: “A big thank you to Lovell and Bowie for their support. All of the school are thrilled to have a neater area which the whole school can use. As well as all the work sorting the area, we had new benches and a storytelling chair installed in the summer term as part of the reflective area. Children then worked to create new mosaic stepping stones in keeping with our values which are also created out of mosaics.”
