On 4th October 2023, we held an empowering Women into Construction event at our Salters Road site in King’s Lynn, in partnership with Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. The event forms part of the Women into Construction East Anglia Programme which we are helping to deliver along with The Hill Group and Morgan Sindall Construction.
The event featured insightful talks from our partnerships director, Sasha Bainbridge, as well as other members of our team and Women into Construction representatives about their own career journeys in construction. The event showcased the diverse job roles within the industry and opportunities available, as well as giving the attendees a site tour.
Kirstie Forrester, Women into Construction Project Manager said: “It’s important for women, who are considering entering the construction sector, to hear from other women and their experiences. Through strong partnerships, such as ours with Lovell and our other key partners within the East Anglia Hub, we are able to provide women with that access and also provide the information they need to make informed decisions about their future. We believe that this collaborative approach is key to creating a more inclusive and diverse construction sector.”
Sasha Bainbridge, our partnerships director at Lovell, comments: "It is vital to inspire and empower women to explore opportunities in the construction industry. We must strive for more diversity in the sector and ensure that women feel confident to pursue roles in construction. Hosting these events is fantastic so that they can really get a feel for what they could do and motivate more women to take the first steps towards successful careers in construction. A massive thank you to Women into Construction for arranging this and to the women who came along to explore and find out more about the industry.”
