The Housing Heroes Awards celebrate the leaders, innovators and changemakers across the industry, as well as championing the success of women and sharing the learnings from teams and individuals within the sector.
Kynleigh has been at Lovell for the past four years and has been nothing but inspirational. She started as a cleaning technician, before becoming a trainee assistant site manager whilst undertaking a construction site supervisor level 3 with West Suffolk College.
Kynleigh has been facing some major health battles. In July 2022, Kynleigh received a stage 4 endometriosis diagnosis. Following this diagnosis, she was determined to find a solution to help save her fertility by freezing her eggs and committed to raising funds by climbing Mount Snowden.
In November 2022, Kynleigh required three months of intensive physiotherapy and psychological support after enduring a tragic accident that broke her back, nearly paralysing her. In January 2023, she returned to work at Lovell, with light and restricted duties, and in June 2023 she climbed Mount Snowden.
In January 2024 Kynleigh underwent surgery to treat the Endometriosis. Looking ahead she hopes she can use her knowledge and experience to help others living with this disease and bring awareness to it by being a spokesperson at Endometriosis events.
Kynleigh Parker said: “I was blown away when I found out I was nominated for this national award, and it is just incredible that I won – especially hearing about all the other deserving finalists. I am so grateful to Lovell for all the support they have given me, and I hope that my story can help others who may be facing the same health challenges which I have been battling. I don’t think that female health is spoken about enough, especially in the construction industry, so I hope that sharing my story helps.”
Kynleigh also won the ‘Achievement in Exceptional Circumstances’ category in the Apprenticeships Norfolk Awards 2024.
