Lovell development, Bowlers Green at Hopton-on-Sea, has been announced as the gold winner at the National Health and Safety Awards, and has been crowned bronze at the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards.

The National Health and Safety Awards demonstrate the commitment that developments have for health, safety and environmental standards. The awards were held at the Leonardo Hotel at Hinckley Island on Thursday 22nd February 2024.

Bowlers Green stood out for its consistency in housekeeping standards and impeccable attention to detail. The awards team made unannounced tours and found that the development was extremely well maintained, with hoardings and signage kept clean, clear pedestrian walkways, and exemplary housekeeping was observed inside and outside.

Bowlers Green has a range of quality two, three and four-bedroom houses and two and three-bedroom bungalows. The development is situated at the UK’s most easterly point, between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, and is a partnership between house builder Lovell and Norfolk County Council’s development company, Repton Property Developments.

Bowlers Green has also been named the bronze winner at the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards, shining a light on Lovell as a beacon of excellence within the construction industry. The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards were held on 29th April 2024 at The Brewery, London. Tommy Salmon, Matty Smith, Joe Ball and Adrian Boulter attended the event to collect the award. The CCS has been rewarding the UK’s most considerate sites since 1998. The awards aim to recognise the sites that have made the greatest contribution towards improving the image of construction.

Holly Baker, Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor at Lovell, said: “Health and safety is vital and everyone plays their part, and we make sure everyone is trained to the highest standards. We are proud to see our commitment being recognised once again. Being crowned winner at the National Health and Safety Awards, plus the CCS National Site Awards accolade is incredible and is a testament to the team who work exceptionally hard to make sure that our sites are well-maintained and safe for all, as we work hard to provide quality homes.”
