Lovell appoints Alex Isted to lead growth in Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire
Lovell, the national partnership housing specialist, has appointed Alex Isted as Regional Managing Director covering Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire, strengthening the senior leadership team at a critical time for housing delivery.
Lovell is part of Morgan Sindall Group and Alex joins from sister company Morgan Sindall Construction, where he established the successful North East and Cumbria business from its formation in 2022. Alex brings expertise in building teams, setting strategy in highly competitive markets and working with public and private sector partners to deliver projects with long-term value.
Alex will lead all operations, with responsibility for strategy, business development, people and talent development, stakeholder relationships and delivering consistently high standards for partners and customers. The appointment comes as Lovell focuses on growth in Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire, where it currently has ten live developments and an ambition to grow the business to deliver 500 homes a year across a blend of joint venture, mixed tenure and contracting schemes.
Lovell Regional Managing Director, Alex Isted, said: “I am proud to work within the Morgan Sindall Group, having been here for nearly 17 years working on a range of projects and leading key businesses. I enjoy a real challenge so when the opportunity arose to lead another business within the wider Group, it was an exciting one. The blend of construction and development at Lovell is what attracted me. It takes strategic thinking and creativity to bring schemes to reality and partnership working is something I have always found rewarding.
“Partnership working is about being part of a long-term, diverse team. It is about understanding relationships, what makes people tick, what their challenges are and how we can deliver together. That long-term approach means Lovell can make a real difference beyond building homes, leaving tangible impact within the communities where we work.”
“I want to build a people-focused culture with high expectations, where people are supported to learn, improve and take pride in what they do. I am looking forward to getting to know our teams, partners and customers.”
Lovell Managing Director, Steve Coleby, said “Alex has a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, while consistently delivering for both public and private sector partners. With extensive experience across contracting and development, he brings the breadth of knowledge and leadership needed to support our ambitions. Alex is a strong advocate for our Partnership Housing model, making him an excellent choice to lead our growth plans across Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire.
“Partnerships have been at the heart of our business for more than 50 years. Being a trusted partner means doing what we say we will do, remaining flexible, taking a long-term view, and seeing challenges through our partners’ eyes so we can find solutions together. Alex understands this approach and will bring it to our teams, partners and communities as we continue to grow.”
The appointment comes amid continuing pressure to increase housing delivery across England, with housebuilders, local authorities and housing partners working together to deliver homes at scale while maintaining quality, placemaking and customer care.
