Work commences on second phase of 97-home Northwich development

WORK has officially begun on the second phase of a major housing development in Northwich that will deliver 97 new affordable homes for Your Housing Group.

The Lovell Partnerships team in the North West is delivering the £28 million development, known as Orchard View, comprising 70 shared ownership properties and 27 homes for social rent. Homes will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, helping to meet local housing demand and provide a range of affordable housing options for individuals and families.

The scheme builds on the success of the first phase of the development, bringing 165 new much-needed homes to local people and creating a thriving community.

Supported by Homes England through the Social and Affordable Homes Programme 2026-2036, construction is now underway on the next phase, with completion expected by May 2029.

Paul Challinor, managing director for Lovell in the North West, said: “It’s great to be working on the next phase of this project in Northwich alongside our partners at Your Housing and Homes England, enhancing this well-established partnership.

“Orchard View embodies the Lovell approach to delivering more high-quality affordable housing and prioritising energy-saving installations and sensitive placemaking, to build communities where people are proud to live. Following the success of the previous phase where there was overwhelming demand, we are excited to see our vision take shape and welcoming residents upon completion.”

Lorraine Donnelly, chief operations officer at Your Housing Group, said: "We're delighted to have started work on the second phase of Orchard View, building on the success of the first phase, which has already delivered 165 much-needed homes in Northwich.

“These new homes will provide more opportunities for people and families to access high-quality, affordable housing, whether through social rent or shared ownership. We're pleased to be working alongside Lovell Partnerships and Homes England to bring these new homes forward and make a positive difference for local residents."
