Known as the voice of housing associations in Wales, CHC represents 34 not-for-profit housing associations that provide almost 165,000 homes in Wales, helping them to continue their work with the support of partners, stakeholders and policymakers.
The group works to secure stable and sufficient funding for its members, and acts as a hub where members can meet and find collective solutions to industry challenges.
Lovell, which built its first partnership development in South Wales with Carmarthenshire Council over 42 years ago, specialises in housing-led regeneration, providing both open market sale and affordable new build homes.
The partnership between Lovell and CHC will see the developer offer its knowledge, expertise and resources to CHC’s members, supporting them with complex regeneration projects. Lovell will also be able to strengthen existing relationships with registered social landlords (RSLs) and local authorities, as well as build new ones.
Gemma Clissett, regional partnerships director at Lovell, said: “We are very excited to have become a commercial partner of CHC. Partnership working is at the heart of what we do at Lovell, it’s part of our DNA, so this partnership is very important to us.
“We are incredibly passionate about providing people with high quality, mixed tenure homes, and care deeply about the communities we operate in. Building not just homes but sustainable places where people can live, work and thrive is what we are committed to at Lovell, and our partnership with CHC will allow us to both support and help create many more communities in South Wales.
“Our experience in the affordable housing sector means we have a lot to offer to CHC’s members, and we are looking forward to collaborating with them to ensure affordable housing needs in Wales are met.”
Stuart Ropke, CEO of CHC, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Lovell Partnerships to our family of commercial partners. As a leading provider of partnership and open-market housing, Lovell brings a wealth of expertise in housing-led regeneration, new-build projects, affordable housing initiatives, refurbishment endeavours, strategic land development, and beyond. Their commitment to excellence and innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to create sustainable communities and support the sector to deliver exceptional housing solutions. Together, we look forward to making a positive impact for the housing sector.”
